Hi, has anyone used Pimsleur Cantonese to learn the basics of the language?

I haven't. But, I used it for Mandarin. I wish that I had used an internet-based program (like ChinesePod or OpenLanguage). It was too much unnecessary work to use Pimsleur. And I am a visual learner. So, it really wasn't good for me.

I would suggest a decent Cantonese textbook with an accompanying CD, rather Pimsleur.

And, of course, Popup Cantonese is a better deal than Pimsleur.

Yeah I did all the levels. It's good practice for speaking and listening. I would say it's a good supplement if you feel you need independent practise in those areas.
