You guys really need to do something about the "Cantonese" tools. They're all in Mandarin (no doubt copied from Popup Chinese with the word "Chinese" replaced by "Cantonese"). I realize this site is a work in progress, but it looks kind of bad to display pinyin everywhere and no jyutping.

Thanks for the comments. Yes -- the current version of the site has been a relatively quick port of what we setup with our site to learn chinese, so there are areas like this that aren't perfect. Fixing them has been less of a priority than improving the site in general, and especially solving the usability problems people have signing up and downloading all of the material.

To give a small example of this, it is really not trivial to figure out how to change account settings on this (the older) version of the platform. The newer one makes this a lot easier, and also simplifies accessing things like the flashcards, etc.

We've been trying to focus on improving usability with the new version, and are planning to upgrade Popup Cantonese in the next couple of days. As I think I mentioned earlier, this should also give a considerable kick to the site speed, and eliminate the problems that some people are reporting accessing the site in China.

Sorry again for the lag.

Sounds great! I realise you guys are working hard; sorry about the whiny tone! I'm looking forward to the update! 加油!

Not whiny at all. Nicole is away for the year and we've been struggling to come out with regular content, so things haven't been as regular as they should be, that's all. Anyway... a new and faster server for the new year soon. :)

Yeah...a Cantonese version of the writing tool would be nice too....all the pronunciations are in mandarin. Maybe I've overlooked it but a tone guide for beginners would be nice as well.
